  • Legal Aid Justice Center

    Civil legal aid and advocacy organization serving eligible clients in its program areas and regions. Contact them to ask whether your issue and income qualify for help.

  • Virginia Legal Aid Society

    Civil legal aid for eligible people in its service area, including many family-law and related poverty-law issues depending on program capacity.

  • Virginia State Bar — Lawyer Referral Service

    The Virginia Lawyer Referral Service (VLRS) can connect you with a lawyer for a short consultation for an administrative fee. It is a referral service, not free full representation. Hours are typically weekday business hours.

  • VaLegalAid.org — pro se (DIY) divorce tool

    Virginia’s legal aid community hosts a guided online interview that can produce forms for a simple, uncontested no-fault divorce when your situation qualifies. Many cases do not qualify (for example, contested issues or complications the tool screens out). Read the instructions first; this site does not operate the tool.
